
Yesterday we took the train to Kyoto – rented some bikes and drove down to Uji. Uji is just south of Kyoto and famous for green tea and macha.



At the tea museum we learned about the history of green tea in Japan and the different types of tea and how they are produced …

We bought macha at this tea shop who had been selling green tea from their own production for 100 years

Lots of tea shops in town

Also went to an ume shop where we did some ume tasting and bought some to bring back home.


Then we visited Byodo temple in town …
