Weather cleared up today and I made it south through Hamburg – about 75 miles in all.
The trail into Hamburg was mostly in the forest and followed a river..
in Hamburg I lined up at this old elevator with other bikers to get down into the underpass tunnel going under the Elbe …
Crossing many old bridges through town …
Made into the countryside on the other side – passing through small villages with cobblestones and old traditional houses

I recall the elevator in Hamburg. I was passenger in a military car taking this tunnel back in 1998. Looking just the same.
